What are Owner Finance Motor Homes?
Do you want to buy a motor home but don't think you can afford it? Maybe you've tried to buy one before and were turned down by the bank. Rather than giving up your goal of owning an RV, consider owner finance motor homes. Owner financing means that the owner of the used motor home you are buying finances the purchase themselves. Rather than paying the bank every month, you pay the owner of the vehicle. This is done in either two ways. The owner gets the loan in their own name, or they allow you to lease to own the vehicle. Be sure to ask all questions that you have and carefully review all paperwork before signing anything.
The problem is that owner financing is often hard to find. Many people just don't want to mess with doing their own financing. They do not have the time, or they want all the money up front. If you do come across an owner willing to finance to you, count yourself lucky. Of course, if you cannot find owner financing you can sometimes track it down. A seller in need of money may consider such an arrangement. The first step is making your need for financing publicly known.
One way to do this is with an ad in the newspaper. Lots of people read the newspaper. Your ad would say something like: Seeking owner financed motor home. You may want to include the type of motor home you are looking for and of course you will have to include your name and phone number. You might also want to place an online ad at a site like Craigslist. Craigslist started as a small online classifieds site and is now the most successful of its kind.
It is important when shopping for owner finance motor homes that you know you are dealing with a reputable seller. You should research the Kelley Blue Book and Nada values of the motor home you are buying. Expect that there will be some financing fees. After all, it has to be worth it for the seller to finance to you. If they are not making a little extra money, they may not want to deal with financing hassles. If you can find it, owner financing is a great way to buy a motor home, at least for anyone who has tried traditional purchasing methods with no luck.
